President's Retreat

president retreat logo

On several occasions, FSU’s Presidents have gathered with a select group of faculty, staff and students in a retreat setting.  The discussions on each of those occasions provided ideas for mutual work to actively strive to make FSU a campus which is challenging and supportive of faculty, students and staff.

Retreats include small group discussions, general assembly and a luncheon.  Each participant is assigned to one of eight discussion groups led by facilitators.  Following the group discussions, participants assemble together and present each group’s recommendations to the group, and ultimately back to the President.

After the retreat, a summary of the priorities from the general group is forwarded to a task group charged with refining the priorities and finding ways to implement some of the recommendations.  Previous year’s topics have included “Joining Together to Promote Academic Integrity,” and “The Future We Would Welcome At FSU”.

This year's topic is "Individual Journey, Shared Experience". We hope you will join us in this unique experience where faculty, staff, and students are charged by the President to come together to discuss such an important issue on our campus - our values.
